Founded in 1969, this esteemed association served as a pivotal gathering point for amateur telescope makers, providing them the unique opportunity to share their craft and foster a community centered around the science of astronomy. Over five decades, the organization successfully hosted an annual Astronomy Expo, becoming a renowned event within the community. The expo brought together a wide array of vendors, enthusiasts, and industry experts, thus ensuring a vibrant exchange of astronomical knowledge and advancements. Despite ceasing operations in 2019, the legacy of this association remains impactful, having enriched countless individuals' appreciation for astronomy and craftsmanship.

For 51 years, this organization delivered an unparalleled experience to its attendees, set against the scenic backdrop of the San Bernardino Mountains. In collaboration with the YMCA Camp Oakes, where the event was held for over 40 years, the conference became a cherished tradition for many. The contributions of numerous board members, volunteers, and sponsors played an integral role in the event's success, creating a platform where knowledge sharing and innovation could thrive. Though the Astronomy Expo is no longer held, the association's longstanding commitment to fostering educational opportunities in the field of astronomy continues to inspire future generations.
